In October, 2010, a hacker hijacked my Lycos/Tripod account and blew away my files. Five years of postings on two blogs, Effective Software Development and Tao and Software Development, were lost, along with many other files.
I was asking for trouble by using a soft password and failing to take regular backups, and eventually the day came for me to pay for my laziness. Lessons learned.
I'm taking the opportunity to start fresh. A new site will be published at http://www.davenicolette.info, and ultimately the .net domain will be moved, as well. No promises about exactly when that will happen.
In the meantime, here are some other online contact points for me:
As for the person who hijacked my account here: Forgiven. People can only do what they can do, based on the personal values, level of maturity, and information they possess at a given time. It would be pointless to expect anything different. The good news is that values, maturity, and information can improve through experience. Each individual must choose for him/herself when, whether, and how to grow.
